The practical Nursing is a Diploma Program. No Pre-requisites is required for this program.
The program is 1350 hours in length. This program takes approximately 12 months (including breaks) for full-time and 18 months for part-time students. Hours and days of the week may vary; and students’ clinical rotation may vary between days and evening due to availability of clinical sites.
The Practical Nursing Program at North Broward Technical Center, also known as LPN, offers expert preparation in the knowledge and clinical skills for students to enter the practical nursing field. Our nursing skills lab is equipped with state-of-the-art training technology and other human simulators that provide the advanced preparation necessary for working in a clinical setting.
What Does A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Do?
Practical Nurses work under the supervision of the medical staff as they provide care to patients experiencing common and well-defined health problems. They also work closely with physicians in evaluating patients and administering medications. Practical Nurses can work in a variety of healthcare settings including clinics, doctor’s offices, assisted living facilities and home health care.
